WHO WILL BE NYCFC'S FIRST BIG SIGNING?
With United coming off a victory last weekend and little bit of downtime before the showdown with Chelsea, we switched gears for a minute on this week's podcast.
Oz, Patrick and I (Trevor) talked a bit about MLS, the upcoming 2014 season and big-name signings like Michael Bradley to Toronto FC. That got me thinking about a couple of things.
First - Do we think our beloved stateside Man U counterpart, Real Salt Lake, will ever splurge on a big signing like that? Short answer: No way.
Second - Who will be NYCFC's first big coup from across the pond?
We know they're rumored to be in the hunt for Xavi, but as that article specifically points out, "Manchester City are taking a long look at the 33-year-old midfielder and are considering making him one of their big signings."
They're a new franchise with deep pockets and they need to make a splash.
What big time, non-MLS player do you think will take the money and run towards New York City? Oz and Patrick give their thoughts on this week's podcast, but what do you think?
Who will it be? And beyond that - how will they do in the MLS?
